Quotes
"...so we got thrown out of the Ritz."
"I've been thrown out of better places."
"I have so many epithets, and all I ever wanted was an aura of doom!" -- Magda
And my personal favorite:
"This are a bit crazy."
Yeah.

Things You Aren't Expecting To Hear When You Walk in on Two Lawyers in Conference

Yesterday I had a little meeting with the 'senior secretary' in my part of the office, and we discussed the re-arrangement of tasks that's impending with the incoming secretary.
The office to-do list (formally known as the docket) is going to end up as largely my responsibility -- putting things on, a fair amount of taking things off, and taking care of items, especially non-urgent ones.
Anybody surprised?

I'm in love.
He walks in the door every morning in his coat and a hat I haven't seen since Tom Landry, greeting the secretaries with a cheery "Good morning, ladies!" He calls me 'Tex' and keeps me updated on the Cowboys' ranking in a delightful Houston drawl that made me like him the first time he opened his mouth. He drives us to lunch in his silver Jaguar (complete with cop-monitor) and lets the secretaries out at the door. He's ex-Navy and full of salty stories, always told with smiling euphemisms in the presence of 'the ladies'. He recites old-fashioned nursery rhymes to the other attorney's kids and promises them white ponies. He's sweet, adorable, and three times my age.
Can I adopt another grandfather?
