That's cuz wetness is an emergent property and we don't really understand how it is that emergent properties aren't physical but they feel physical... oh. wait. right, yeah. sorry.

They know when to wear raincoats, can explain why why one gets wet but still they will not trouble themselves to understand chemistry. Worlds apart.
